THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF OUR LIVES

Yesterday, January 14 2012 at 3:52 PM, Brandie gave birth to a very healthy baby girl. She (still nameless), weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and was 20.5 in long.

I have a newfound respect for women in general, especially my beautiful wife. She did such an amazing job yesterday during her labor. I'm not sure that I could ever do the same.

January 14, 2012 - The Day We've Been Waiting For?

Brandie and I decided to have Brandie induced. We arrived at the hospital Friday morning around 2:30 AM. It is now Saturday morning and she has slowly progressed, but is doing great.

We hope that today is the day, even though we wouldn't have had a problem with a Friday the 13th baby. I think we are both excited and anxious for the arrival of our first child. I'm sure Brandie even more so since she has dealt with the everything involving bringing her to life. I will forever be thankful to her for this!

I will post more later after she arrives. Yes, we are calling her She as we have yet to pick out a name yet.

Getting Closer to The Big Day!

Well, it is the middle of December and no baby yet. However, Brandie has been having contractions since Thanksgiving. She is on medicine to keep them at bay. But since she will technically be considered full term on 12/19/11, there is a good chance that the doctor may take her off the meds at that time. The baby could arrive anytime after that!

Brandie is at the point where she is pretty uncomfortable. I think she is about ready for our baby girl to arrive. I can't wait either as it seems like we have been waiting forever.

I think most of our preparation is complete. The nursery is finished, and we purchased some items that we didn't receive from our very gracious family and friends. I had no clue we were going to need so many items for a baby.

We also took some birthing and baby care classes last weekend. Let me tell ya, I sure learned a thing or two that I didn't know before (and some things I wish I still didn't know 😉). All jokes aside, I'm glad we too the class as we both feel more informed about what to expect.

Since I suck at keeping this blog we started updated, I have included some random pictures that I meant to post a while ago.

We will let everyone know once the baby is coming. By the way, baby Reiss is the only name we have so far as we are waiting to see her cute face before we decide on her name. Any suggestions?

ITS OFFICIAL....WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!!!

Well, if you didn't know by now, we are officially having a girl! Brandie and I are so excited that we are bringing a life into this world together. We cannot wait until January 16, 2012! Don't forget to make your calendars.

Brandie now has more energy than when she was in her first trimester, even though she is currently taking a nap ;-). As of today, we only have 119 days left. These nine months of waiting seem to be flying by as it is already September.

We have been working on the baby's room. All we have left to do is some painting and decorating. Although, since I haven't done this before, that statement could be incorrect.
